Essendon Football Club Details


The Essendon Football Club was founded in 1872 and a member of the VFL in 1897 as the foundation of the club championship. Nicknamed "Bomber" They play their home games at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and make the club colors of red and black.Essendon won a record 16 Premierships (with Carlton Football Club) and have a strong, powerful, with a club of very loyal fans to support their team through good and bad times.

The legendary Kevin Sheedy coached Essendon for 27 consecutive years until leaving the club in 2007 when Matthew Knight took the reins. Cavalieri was replaced by club legend James Hird, before the 2011 season AFL.
